Irish Offshore Energy holds a 72% working interest in North Celtic Sea Basin which is located c. 60 km off the south coast of Ireland and is situated in c. 70 m water depth. Currently held under SEL 1/08 was awarded to the Company and its partners in 2018. It has had four wells drilled on it, all of which have logged hydrocarbon bearing reservoir intervals and has audited recoverable resources of c. 35 MMBO (2C) in the drilled central part of the structure.
SEL 2/07 was awarded to the Company in February 2019 (63%), having previously being held under a Licensing Option authorisation. The licence is situated on the Irish/UK median line in the St George’s Channel. Having relinquished the adjacent UK licence (P 1930) due to limited resource potential, based on reprocessed PSDM 3D seismic data, the Company is addressing the future status of the Irish licensing authorisation with the Irish regulator.
SEL 3/06 was awarded to the Company in February 2020 (54%). 3D seismic data in the South Porcupine Basin has provided new insights into the geology and exploration potential of the area, revealing detail previously unseen on available legacy data. Irish Offshore Energy acquired this RightBand™ multi-client survey , towing a 10 x 150m x 8,100m ultraquiet Sentinel® solid streamer spread and a 25m alternating shot interval, delivering 81 fold data with a 10 second record length. Data has been processed by ION GX Technology through a state-of-the-art WiBand™ Pre-STM workflow.
